

A Welcome Letter from Rebecca
Dear Reader, Melting snow was not the only cause of celebration in March; we also had the opportunity to welcome Friends Seminary’s incoming 36th Head of School, Chris Singler, to campus. During his three-day visit, the first of a series, Chris met with students, staff, parents, trustees, and alumni. He is already starting to build relationships ahead of his official start on July 1 and looks forward to returning to campus again in April and in June for commencement. I hope


PoAs Visit the Skyspace

Frigid temperatures, which prevented the opening of the dome, did not detract from the warm feelings generated by their experience of the interior light show and return to campus. Notable Alumnus Delivers Annual Lecture in the Meetinghouse
On the evening of January 22, Willie Perdomo '85 , acclaimed poet, educator, author, and former New York State Poet Laureate, delivered the 2026 Peace Week Lecture in the Meetinghouse. Addressing students, faculty, families, alumni, and friends, Willie declared, “It was in this Meetinghouse where I cultivated my spirit, where I found peace, where I found communion. It was here that I declared myself a poet.” The event, held in alignment with this year’s Peace Week programming


Memorial Service to Honor Gordon Hulse
A memorial service for Gordon Hulse will be held in the Meetinghouse on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2pm. For more than four decades, Gordon served Friends Seminary as Director of Facilities with quiet humility, steadfast care, and unwavering dedication. All members of the community are warmly invited to attend this celebration of Gordon’s life and legacy. Please RSVP if you plan to attend or to share a reflection.
